After Hours Art Reels
Muncie Downtown Development will host outdoor “After Hours Art Reels” following the First Thursday Gallery Walks in May-September. Films will be projected onto the Mutual Bank wall on Charles St. at dusk. Seating will be available on the Fickle Peach patio area located at 117 E. Charles St. for guests who are 21 and up. Viewers who are not yet 21 can watch the films from the sidewalk surrounding the patio area.
This year's line-up:
MAY 5 - Blazing saddles
Directed by Mel Brooks: “It’s a crazed grab bag of movie that does everything to keep us laughing except hit us over the head with a rubber chicken.”
JuNE 2 - 8 1/2
Directed by Federico Fellini: “One of the greatest films about film ever made, Federico Fellini’s 8 1/2 (Otto e mezzo) turns one man’s artistic crisis into a grand epic of the cinema.”
JULY 7 - LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS
Directed by Frank Oz: “This is the kind of movie that cults are made of, I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see it develop into a successor to “Rocky Horror Show,” as one of those movies that fans want to include in their lives.”
August 4 - labyrinth
Directed by Jim Henson: Featuring the late great David Bowie “A real masterpiece of puppetry and special effects, an absolutely gorgeous children’s fantasy movie.”
September 1 - The Birdcage
Directed by Mike Nichols: Featuring the late great Robin Williams. “The hilarious gaiety and likability of this Americanized version of the French classic LA CAGE AUX FOLLES is simply 'FABULOUS!'"
