DWNTWN WKND: 1 weekend. 3 events. Something for everyone.

DWNTWN Muncie is celebrating a three-day festival, launching with ArtsWalk on Thursday, October 5 from 5 - 9 p.m. DWNTWN galleries will host tours, booths, exhibits, and activities, presented by local arts organizations and artisans. The Muncie Symphony Orchestra will perform at the corner of Walnut and Charles Streets, while live music and kids’ activities take place at Canan Commons.

Friday night will kick off Upstairs DWNTWN, with speak easy parties lighting up downtown buildings. Guests can engage with local shop owners to earn secret codes to upstairs events and experience DWNTWN like never before.

DWNTWN WKND will wrap up with a Saturday night Hootenanny. This rustic street festival will provide live music, classic food and drinks, and a home-style atmosphere for friends, families, and neighbors

Muncie Downtown Development Partnership (MDDP), in partnership with Muncie Arts and Culture Council and Ball State University’s School of Fine Art and School of Music, present ArtsWalk 2018. ArtsWalk will be held in the streets of DWNTWN Muncie on Oct. 4 from 5 - 9 p.m. Please join us for an exceptional evening of art, food, and performances. 

All ArtsWalk events are free and open to the public. A full list of exhibitions, performance times, and activities will be available on our website as information is received.

Have you ever wondered what goes on above your favorite storefront? During Upstairs DWNTWN, you can find out with a secret knock or a password required for entry. The Upstairs DWNTWN Tour will feature eight DWNTWN locations, all hosted by the current occupant or someone hoping to develop the space. Each location will offer food and cocktail samples from the 1920s. Costumes are encouraged for guests and hosts alike.

Enjoy rustic food, regional arts and crafts, live music, hands on activities for the kids, a pumpkin carving and scarecrow contest, and the Great Lakes Timber Show, featuring log rolling, ax throwing, chain saw carving, and log splitting. Try your hand at playing the spoons, skillet throwing, or firing a slingshot.

The main music event will feature The Kentucky Headhunters, with an opening act by Flynnville Train.

4 - 11 p.m. - $20 General Admission (kids 10 and under free)

6 - 9 p.m. - $40 VIP. Ticket includes admission, samples of beer, bourbon, mead, and food. Tickets must be purchased in advance, and there will only be 500 available.
