LIL’ ED & THE BLUES IMPERIALS PERFORMING IN FREE CONCERT IN MUNCIE, INDIANA ON FRIDAY JULY 25th

Alligator recording artist Lil’ Ed & The Blues Imperials will be performing in Muncie, IN on Friday, July 25th at 8:00 PM. This will be the second of 4 free concerts presented as part of the Muncie Three Trails Music Series and will occur at the Canan Commons Performance Stage, 500 S. Walnut, in Downtown Muncie.

“Full of fire, Lil’ Ed & The Blues Imperials hit the floor running and accelerate from there. High-octane, expressive, fiercely articulated, harrowing intensity, raucous slide.” –Living Blues

From working at Chicago’s Red Carpet Car Wash and gigging at the smallest blues bars to appearing on national television and performing on the largest international concert stages, master bluesman Lil’ Ed Williams has come a long way. With a mix of smoking slide guitar boogies, raw-boned Chicago shuffles, and the deepest slow-burners, Lil’ Ed and his blistering Blues Imperials — bassist James “Pookie” Young, guitarist Mike Garrett and drummer Kelly Littleton — deliver the blues in a way not seen since the heyday of Hound Dog Taylor & The HouseRockers. He and his band have been lauded in publications such as Musician, The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post, The Boston Globe, andThe Chicago Tribune, among many others.

Blues history runs deep through Lil’ Ed’s blood — his uncle and musical mentor was the great Chicago slide guitarist, songwriter and recording artist J.B. Hutto. According to The Chicago Tribune, “Williams represents one of the few remaining authentic links to pure Chicago blues.” The Associated Press agrees, stating, “Williams fills Chicago’s biggest shoes with more life and heat than anyone on stage today.” The band’s impromptu and unpredictable live shows have become legendary among blues fans worldwide, twice winning them “Band Of The Year” honors at the Blues Music Awards as well as being voted “Best Live Band” by the Living Blues magazine Çritics Poll.  Spurred on by the band’s rowdy performances, legions of fanatical fans, proudly calling themselves “Ed Heads,” have eagerly spread the word about the group the Boston Globe calls “the world’s #1 houserocking blues band”.

Lil’ Ed may be available for press/radio interviews. Please contact Rick Zeigler (317-430-1452/smzfoundation55@gmail.com) for more information. For complete information on this show and the entire Muncie Three Trails Music Series, please visit www.munciethreetrails.org
