You can win $500 cash, a trophy, additional community performance opportunities, a one-hour photoshoot from Kishel Photography, professional skin prep, airbrush make up with lashes, and hair style for the photo shoot by Kara Leigh Robinson, an overnight stay at the Courtyard by Marriott, and bragging rights as Muncie’s top performer!
How to Compete to Become the 2026 DWNTWN IDOL
TWO CHANCES TO QUALIFY FOR THE CROWN
Round 1:
Brink of Summer ArtsWalk
June 4 • 5–8 PM
Canan Commons Stage
Sponsored by Ball State University
20 contestants will compete and 10 finalists will move on to the Finale
If you are not chosen in Round 1, you can submit a new audition for Round 2
To be considered: Submit your audition video between April 5 – May 22 to be featured in the Round 1 “People's Choice Award” voting window.
20 contestants from the People's Choice voting and judges choice will compete at Brink of Summer ArtsWalk. One People's Choice Winner will be announced.
Round 2:
Fire Up DWNTWN
August 1 • 5–8 PM
Walnut Street Stage
Sponsored by Ball State University
20 contestants will compete and 10 finalists will move on to the Finale
To be considered: Submit your audition video between May 23 – July 13 to be featured in the Round 2 “People's Choice Award” voting window.
20 contestants from the People's Choice voting and judges choice will compete at Fire Up DWNTWN. One People's Choice Winner will be announced.

How to Audition for Rounds 1 & 2
Record Your Performance
Record your performance in any location with good acoustics
Vocals must be clear and video quality strong
Performances must be karaoke-style using songs from the KaraFun catalog.
Solo performers only (no duets, groups, or live instrumental accompaniment)
Community Guidelines
Submissions must be family-friendly and support a positive community experience
Entries containing profanity, explicit sexual content, or divisive material will be disqualified

Your name and performer name (if different)

An artist release for use of your performance and photo
