You Can’t Stop a Steamroller: Brink of Summer ArtsWalk June 5th Rain or Shine

Muncie Downtown Development Partnership (MDDP), in collaboration with a host of community partners, has announced updated plans for the upcoming Brink of Summer ArtsWalk due to forecasted thunderstorms. The event, generously sponsored by The Community Foundation of Muncie and Delaware County, will still take place as scheduled on Thursday, June 5, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with some activities moving indoors.

Despite what the weather might be, the evening promises to be filled with arts, culture, and entertainment across downtown Muncie. Updated locations include:

  • Steamroller Printmaking – A new feature this year, sponsored by The Sherman and Marjorie Zeigler Foundation and produced by Tribune Showprint, will now be held inside MadJax , 515 E. Main Street.

  • Flower Hour – Sponsored by Wise Country Market, this popular floral stroll will continue at the originally planned downtown street locations with flowers provided by Normandy Flower Shop.

  • DWNTWN IDOL, along with performances by America’s Hometown Band and Muncie Ballet, will be relocated to the auditorium at Cornerstone Center for the Arts, 520 E. Main Street.

  • YART (Yard Art Sale) – This vibrant collection of local art vendors will be featured at both Cornerstone Center for the Arts and MadJax.

  • Muncie Makers Market – Now taking place inside Cornerstone Center for the Arts

  • Exhibits and Gallery Shows – Will continue as originally planned in their respective locations.

“While we always hope for the best, we’re committed to providing a safe and enjoyable experience regardless of the weather,” said Cheryl Crowder, Event Director for MDDP. “We invite everyone to join us downtown to celebrate creativity and community—with a few things under a roof this time, just in case.”
